Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ReadCast ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

ReadCast is operated by its developer ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to all users of the App, including users who subscribe to any paid features.

2. License Grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use ReadCast on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App;
• Use the App to provide services to third parties on a commercial basis;
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices from the App.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Auto-renewing subscriptions

ReadCast offers auto-renewing subscription plans (Pro, Premium, and Unlimited) that unlock AI narration and other premium features. When you subscribe, your payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

Subscription tiers

• Pro — 1,000,000 characters of AI narration per month.
• Premium — 2,000,000 characters of AI narration per month.
• Unlimited — No monthly character limit.

Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual billing basis. Annual plans are billed once per year.

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the applicable subscription price.

Managing and cancelling

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you retain access until the end of the paid period.

Free trials

If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the applicable subscription price. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.

Refunds

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple or Google. All refund requests are handled in accordance with Apple's or Google's refund policies, as applicable. We do not issue refunds directly.

4. Your Content

ReadCast allows you to import book files (PDF, EPUB, TXT) from your device. You retain all ownership rights to the content you import. By importing content, you represent that you have the right to use that content and that your use complies with applicable copyright laws.

We do not claim ownership of your imported books. PDF files never leave your device. Text pages from EPUB and TXT files may be uploaded to our cloud storage to enable cross-device sync, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use ReadCast to:

• Infringe any intellectual property rights or copyright laws;
• Upload, store, or process content you do not have the right to use;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems;
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers connected to the App;
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in ReadCast — including the app, its design, code, graphics, and AI voice technology — are and remain the exclusive property of ReadCast and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

"ReadCast" and the ReadCast logo are trademarks of ReadCast. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

ReadCast is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. AI-generated narration is provided for personal use and may contain inaccuracies in pronunciation, pacing, or interpretation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ReadCast and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of ReadCast shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the App or by other reasonable means. Continued use of ReadCast after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
